Have you missed Macy’s Pink Pig? Just in time for the holiday season, the Macy's Pink Pig train ride has returned, and you can have your share of fun on Saturday, December 7th. Atlanta’s most “pink-tacular” train ride travels along train tracks to carry children and parents through a life-sized storybook that includes the original Pink Pig and other holiday friends.
The Macy’s Pink Pig has been a beloved Atlanta tradition for more than 50 years. In 2003, Priscilla the Pink Pig was reintroduced to a new generation of Atlantans. From its debut in the ‘50s as a children’s ride at the downtown Rich’s store to its brief stint at the Egleston Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees, five generations of Atlantans have ridden the Macy’s Pink Pig into the holiday season.
Did you know Priscilla, the original Pink Pig, began as a monorail along with the ceiling of Rich’s, giving children the experience of “flying over” the toy department? Later, another pig, Percival, was added and they became known as the Pink Pig Monorail Twins. Years later, the monorail was relocated to the roof of the department store and the “monorail twins” took passengers on rooftop rides that provided views of downtown Atlanta and circled the Great Tree.
Each ride costs $3 and multi-ride tickets have a special discounted price (two rides for $5.50, three rides for $7.50). A portion of the proceeds from each ride benefits the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. At Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, we make it our mission to provide the best care—and best experience—for every child.
Macy's Pink Pig will run through Sunday, January 5, 2020. For more information, please call Macy’s Pink Pig Ride at 404-231-2796 or 404-231-2959.
